Instructional Activities
Five instructional activities are presented below and available for classroom use.Teachers created these activities during the summer session and once teachers have incorporated suggestions from the Rice University and UTMB team, they report the results of their classroom implementation during follow-up meetings during the academic year and make appropriate modifications as needed to the written documents.  Teachers in the program receive follow up support from Dr. Sognier and Ms. Jensen throughout the year. These activities include experiments for high school biology classrooms in which students will be introduced to the concept of human exposure to pollution, draw parallels between indoor and ambient air, and look at the importance of preserving the quality of indoor air. as well as another unit which focuses on investigating the effects of microgravity on major body systems.
